Rocco was the recording, mix and mastering engineer for Yo Yo Ma for his performance of “Amazing Grace” during Joe Biden’s 2021 presidential inauguration concert “Celebrating America” - produced by Persistent Productions.

I’ve had the pleasure of mixing songs for Rocco. His productions are always very professional, organized, and ready to mix. His communication is clear when questions would arise about what direction to take for a song. We’ve spoken a lot over the years. It’s clear he’s always looking to improve all facets of his work at all times. I very much look forward to working with him in the future. Watch Rocco, he’s a talented guy with a clear vision of how to better your creative endeavor!

Rocco played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of Start With These Words. He helped me take the songs to a much more richly imagined place than I ever would have reached on my own. His creative vision, talent for orchestration, enthusiasm for experimentation, technical fluency as a recording and mixing engineer, skill as a guitarist and vocal coach—all of these ingredients were essential to the process and the ultimate product. I’m excited to work with him in the future and would highly recommend him as a collaborator and producer.

“Rocco is amazing to work with throughout the entire production process. This is exactly why I’ve returned to work with him on my second project! His level of knowledge, combined with his ability to tune in and get the best result out of those he is working with is impressive. I know that he is someone I can trust to get the absolute best result for each song.”

You want Rocco's ears on your project. Rocco approaches things from a songwriting-is-king angle. Every mic selection, arrangement choice, and production move is geared towards serving the song. I've had the pleasure of sharing the studio with Rocco on a handful of projects, Stenographer included. He comes prepared with a vision for the music. But because of his confidence in his roster of go-to session players, there's always an element of spontaneity and improv from the team. 5 stars.
